Frequently asked questions
Do you have a cancellation fee?
Up until now it has not been necessary, in line with our policy of trust. However, as we have recently had people turn up on the day and cancel, we now charge 50% of the booking if this happens. Up to a few days before is appreciated, as we have people who would like to stay on and have moved because of a booking that is not taken up. The charge will only apply to those who turn up late in the day.
How far is it from the centre of town?
A gentle 5 minute stroll.
Is the house non-smoking?
Yes. In accordance with NZ law, smoking is not permitted anywhere inside. You are welcome to smoke outside.
Can I bring my children?
Children are always welcome. We have a cot available.
What time is breakfast served?
Anytime between 7.00 and 9.00am, just let us know the night before what time suits you.
I have a special diet. Can you accommodate me?
Yes, this is no problem just give us prior notice.
What time is check out?
We ask that you vacate your room by 10.30am. Late checkout by arrangement
Can I pay by credit card?
Yes, we accept MasterCard and Visa.
Can you help me see more of the area?
Yes we can organise and book tours on your behalf.
How far are the wineries?
A short 10 minute drive.
Are they any restaurants, wine bars and pubs close by?
Yes, there are 14 restaurants within 5 minutes walk as well as plenty of wine bars and pubs.
How far away are Nelson and Kaikoura?
Both are only an hour and a half drive away. Many of our guests go on a day trip to visit these lovely spots.
