Henry Maxwell's
Welcome to Henry Maxwell's Blog,
In spite of the windy and colder weather, we are still seeing a lot of guests, both from New Zealand and further afield. They are enjoying the wineries, and cycling and all the usual past-times Blenheim and Marlborough have to offer.
Our favourite guest comment. "My partner has never stayed in a bed and breakfast, because he doesn't know what it is like, or what to do.'
Well, we can't speak for what other Bed and Breakfast's do, but at Henry Maxwell's we fall somewhere in the middle of hotels and motels, many guests have remarked that they have come to us because they have the choice of how sociable they want to be. While we are definitely not impersonal or unapproachable, guests have the space to relax and unwind in their rooms, guest lounge or garden, the same as they would do in their own home, but with someone else to do the work. We are there to meet their needs. Better than home perhaps?
On arrival settle into your room, have a cup of tea or coffee, and plan your activities from information there or talk to us or other guests about it. Stroll into town in the evening for a meal, after sampling a bottle of wine that you have bought back from the wineries, enjoy a glass of complementary port, before a good nights rest.
In the morning refreshed, enjoy at the time of your choosing the breakfast that you have requested the night before. Sleeping in and late check-outs are encouraged whenever possible.
Hope to see you soon in Marlborough. Maybe we will have some sun in February.
